Boy oh boy did mother nature dump on us early in the winter this year, in our last major snow storm we got two and a half feet of the white fluffy stuff. I grew up near Lake Tahoe in Northern California, so I’m used to lots and lots of snow, but poor little Tater Tot and Kiki couldn’t even make it outside. The wall of snow was so high that it loomed over the top of their heads and blocked them inside. Tater Tot loves the snow though – she lives for it. Little Kiki on the other hand – she would much rather prefer to live year round in the Sahara. Snow (or any sort of precipitation) majorly inconveniences our poor Kiki and she sure isn’t afraid to convey that to us.
A few days after we got the snow, it finally started to warm up and the snow melted about halfway. This is when we let the girls out on our deck to frolic in the snow. Tot just buries her head into the snow and eats as much as she can – at least that’s when she’s not begging me to throw snowballs for her to fetch. Kiki will venture out into the snow a little, but she prefers to stay inside – she’ll usually wait in the doorway so she can keep an eye on things. I let Tot play until she starts to shiver, and then I have to pick her up and carry her inside – because she won’t voluntarily leave her winter wonderland! The snow clumps to Tot and Kiki’s fur so badly, that we have to put them in a warm bath tub to get it off. But as soon as Tater is out of the tub, she runs straight to the door that opens to the deck and eagerly waits for us to let her back outside. It’s so adorable!
