I love summertime in Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland because they are chock full of pet friendly events, and I think we all know that the best kind of events are the ones that we can share with our dogs!
I recently saw on Dogtime.com that Northern Virginia was ranked as the fourth highest pet friendly city in the US – how cool is that? In the spirit of celebrating our fourth place rank, I thought it would be fun to share some fun local pet events going on this weekend!
Tonight, June 4th is A Toast to Pets with Disabilities in Prince Frederick, Maryland – wine tasting, food, music – all the good stuff! What a truly wonderful organization – please be sure to check them out!
June 5th (Saturday) is the all new K-9 2K & Doggie Expo at the Herndon Festival. I will definitely be there!
Also on June 5th (Saturday) is Springfield Days and Petfest!
If you are looking for something a little more upscale (and air conditioned) there is the Washington Humane Society’s Bark Ball in DC with cocktails, dinner, auctions and they even have a doggie bar!
And I should add in for good measure – just in case you haven’t already heard – June 25th is Bring Your Dog to Work Day. At casa de Riddle we are very lucky because every day around here is Bring Your Dog to Work Day! One of my favorite things about being able to work from my home office (when I’m not on-location at a photo shoot) is having my dogs with me all of the time! I know that my “executive assistants” Tot and Kiki wouldn’t have it any other way!
Here are a few of my favorites of Luke the Golden Doodle being his playful, mischievous and fun self – I know that seeing his sweet adorable little face will help get your weekend off to a good start! This fella sure melts my heart!
