<p style="text-align: justify;">You might remember <a href="http://yourdogsmiles.com/">Colleen</a> from a session that I had with her earlier this summer, and I was thrilled when she asked me to photograph her with her new Shih Tzu puppy Sully!  It doesn&#8217;t get much better than the sweet smell of puppy breath and puppy kisses, plus watching him curiously play in the beautiful autumn leaves thinking they are all toys was absolutely hilarious!  I really wanted to take this little love bug home with me, but I know that he is going to have a rather amazing and pampered life with his mom who loves him to pieces!  I literally can&#8217;t get enough of this little fella, and then watching him fall asleep at the end in his mom&#8217;s arms was the perfect ending to a perfect fall afternoon!<img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="northern va fall foliage" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/northern-va-fall-foliage.jpg" alt="woman laying on red leaves with puppy dog" width="1000" height="667" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="washington dc pet photographers" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/washington-dc-pet-photographers.jpg" alt="woman in field in northern virginia with dog" width="1000" height="667" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="northern virginia pet photographers" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/northern-virginia-pet-photographers.jpg" alt="fall foliage pet photographer in northern virginia" width="1000" height="750" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="wshington dc animal photographer" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/wshington-dc-animal-photographer.jpg" alt="shih tzu puppy in autumn leaves" width="1000" height="222" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="shih tzu pet photographer" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/shih-tzu-pet-photographer.jpg" alt="christmas pet photographer in northern virginia" width="1000" height="667" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="no va fall foliage pet pics" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/no-va-fall-foliage-pet-pics.jpg" alt="shih tzu puppy in bright red leaves" width="1000" height="333" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="washington dc animal photographer" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/washington-dc-animal-photographer.jpg" alt="photography by sara riddle" width="1000" height="667" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="northern virginia animal photographer" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/northern-virginia-animal-photographer.jpg" alt="puppy running through open field" width="1000" height="667" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="maryland animal photographers" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/maryland-animal-photographers.jpg" alt="sit, stay, jumping puppy" width="1000" height="267" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="no va pet pics" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/no-va-pet-pics.jpg" alt="northern virginia pet photos" width="1000" height="667" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="northern virginia puppy photography" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/northern-virginia-puppy-photography.jpg" alt="woman holding puppy for holiday photos in northern virginia" width="1000" height="750" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="loudoun county pet photography" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/loudoun-county-pet-photography.jpg" alt="puppy playing with toys" width="1000" height="222" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="northern virginia christmas pet photographer" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/northern-virginia-christmas-pet-photographer.jpg" alt="puppy in field with a woman" width="1000" height="750" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="no va puppy photography" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/no-va-puppy-photography.jpg" alt="woman holding a puppy dog" width="1000" height="667" /><img class="p3-insert-all size-full aligncenter" title="nothern virginia puppy photographer" src="http://www.sarariddle.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/nothern-virginia-puppy-photographer.jpg" alt="sleeping puppy in lap" width="1000" height="667" /></p>

<p>I attended a great class yesterday with some dear friends of mine on Animals and Spiritualism and absolutely loved it!  We talked about how there is so much that we can learn from our best friends, from their attitudes and outlook of the world to the way they love unconditionally &#8211; and everything in between!  We talked about Reiki for animals and also learned how to do T Touch for our pets, which was so cool!  I always love to learn new things!</p>
<p>While I was driving to the class I saw the first tree of the spring season just starting to bloom!  It&#8217;s such a magical time of year when the earth starts to awaken from her deep slumber!  I don&#8217;t know about you but I am looking forward to the upcoming DC Cherry Blossom Festival the same way that a child looks forward to Christmas morning!  With the arrival of spring and the melting of the snow (for a while there I was wondering if it was ever going to melt!!) I am so excited to announce that I am starting to book pet photography sessions again!  The spring and fall are my favorite times for photo sessions because it is extraordinarily gorgeous and the weather is refreshingly pleasant &#8211; why not take advantage of it?  Speaking of fall, I wanted to share this photo of my girls Kiki and Tater Tot that was taken this past autumn (which will soon grace the walls of my home as a massive gallery wrapped canvas!).</p>
<p>I hope you are able to spend some time outdoors with your furry friends to enjoy and share in the glory of all that is spring!</p>

<p>Greetings from Snowmageddon 2010!  It&#8217;s been one big blizzard today, I took the girls out earlier and it felt like we were inside a large and extremely pissed off snow globe.  We have been stuck at home for 6 days now, and I have to admit that we&#8217;re getting a little batty because of it &#8211; for instance, when we watched the weather report two nights ago and they called for 20 more inches of snow on top of the 3 feet we had, Matt and I started laughing hysterically.  But it&#8217;s cool because our days have been full of hot cocoa, good music, good books, snuggling with two very sweet schnauzies, a few gourmet meals, card games, Words with Friends, a little Wii tennis and lots of family time.  We also finally got around to a few things that we&#8217;d put off too long, like watching The Hangover {awesome!} and installing some drawer handles in our kitchen.</p>
<p>As tough as it can get being stuck at home, I have to remind myself that it&#8217;s mother natures way of telling us to take some time to slow down, rest, restore and find some peace and balance.</p>
<p>We attempted a few photos today but the wind was pretty brutal.  I was squinting because of the bitter wind and laughing because Tot just wanted down so she could eat more snow.  That girl is nuts!  She&#8217;s like a mini snow plow, if we let her, she&#8217;d eat all of the snow in sight.</p>
<p>Photo by my hubby Matt.</p>
